god bless the daylight
the sugary smell of springtime
remembering when you were mine
in a still suburban town

college life.

you're finally free. out of the house.
away from your parents, your old
drama, your past.

you chose to attend school on the pacific
north coast. it's rainy here, not the sort of
place where you can ditch class to lie on
the beach and suntan all year round. no
one here is famous, and only a handful
came from money. it's refreshingly normal.

but just because you're surviving on grilled
cheese and ramen noodles doesn't mean
you can't have a good time.
